Dr. Umashankar Nagaraju praticipated as faculty ACSICON-2016 at Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra from April 21st-23rd 2016.

Dr Umashankar presented as fatulty during 5th annual congress of DASIL (The Dermatologic And Aesthetic Surgery International League), 19th - 23rd of October 2016, Dubai. He presented his research work on "Smashed Dermal Graft with epidermal reclosure in Acne Scars"

Dr. Umashankar participated and moderated a session on Hair and Nail at National Symposium on Clinical Dermatology and bedside investigations on 11th and 12th of June 2016, Bangalore.

Dr. Umashankar Nagaraju has been awarded "DR. L N SINHA MEMORIAL NATIONAL AWARD" by Indian Association of Dermatologist, Venereologist and Leprologists, for his achievements.

Vitiligo Day, Public awareness program was observed on 19th May 2014 at Dr.Umashankar`s Dermavision® to educate public regarding Myths associated with Vitiligo and to overcome stigma associated with this disease. Documentary and street play was displayed to public and brochures were distributed.

Dr. Umashankar N being Hon. General Secretary , IADVL Karnataka was Organizing Secretary in MIDCUTICON 2014, 2nd Mid year State conference of IADVL Karnataka and it was a practitioners meet held at Mysore during 10th and 11th May 2014.

Dr.Umashankar N was invited as guest speaker during 12th ACSICON 2014, National Conference of Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India held from 24th to 26th April 2014 at Wayanad Hills, Kerala, India. He spoke on Infection Control in Dermato Surgery.

Dr. Umashankar N, was a resource person during DERMA ADVANCE, Post graduates CME , held at Bangalore Medical College and Research Centre, Bangalore on 25th and 26th January 2014. He trained post graduates onvarious Instruments used in Dermatology.

Dr. Umashankar N, was Organizing Secretary in the State Level CME on Leprosy held under IADVL, Karnataka hosted by Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore on 24th January 2014. It was a successful conference with participation of 375 delegates from all over Karnataka and other States.

. Dr. Umashankar N was invited as Guest speaker during State Conference of IADVL, Tamil Nadu Branch, 2013 and spoke on ‘Acne Scar Management –Surgical Approach’.

State Conference- Dr. Umashankar .N was invited as a guest speaker at the First MIDCUTICON 2013 , held in Coorg, Karnataka, Indiaduring 25th to 26th May 2013. He delivered a lecture on "Pharmacy in Dermatology". This was organized by Karnataka Branch of IADVL. Dermatologists from all over Karnataka attended the conference and shared their experiences.

International conference- Dr.Umashankar.N was invited as gueat speaker during 19th World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology which was jointly held with the annual summer meeting of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology during 27th-30th June 2013 at Athens, Greece. He deleiverd a lecture on Vitiligo Surgeries-An Overview of Grafting Techiques. Around 500 dermatologists and Scientists from all over the world attended the meet.

Dr.Umashankar N has been awarded 'YOUNG DERMATOLOGIST AWARD' by IADVL KN. Medical Education Minister Dr.Sharan Prakash Patil handed over the award. Teachers of Dr.Umashankar- Dr.Ganesh S Pai and Dr.Narendra Kamath are seen in the photograph.

Dr.Umashankar was invited as Guest speaker during ONYCHOCON 2013, 2nd National Conference of Nail Society of India, held in New Delhi. Delegates actively participated from all over the country.

Vitiligo Street Play performed by Dr. Umashankar

Dr.Umashankar was invited to deliver lecture in COGNITION, international Symposium on aesthetic dermatology held at Tashkent in September 2013.

Social activity- Dr.Umashankar took active participation asconvenor of state Vitiligo Day . It was an awareness program to educate the public on facts; and to overcome the myths and stigma associated with Leukoderma. Rallies, press conference, radio and television interview were conducted. Brochures were distributed both in english and kannada(regional language) to educate public. Highlight was Street play “ AshaKirana” played in front of Town Hall, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was viewed by more than 100 citizens and were educated. The same street play can be viewed in You Tube – Vitiligo Street Play.

Dr. Umashankar .N was invited as a guest speaker at the First Annual Meeting of Vitiligo Academy of India and 2nd VITLICON, Global Conference on Vitiligo held during 28th and 29th April, 2012 at Shimla. He delivered a lecture on "Acral Vitiligo-Therapeutic challenges". This was Organized by Chandigarh Association of Dermatologists and Vitiligo Academy of India. Dermatologists and Scientists from India and abroad attended the conference and shared their research experiences and also discussed various therapeutic options. Dr.Umashankar was honored by Health Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

Dr. Umashankar .N is a Deputy Editor of Text Book on Cutaneous and Aesthetic surgery, by Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India and the text book was released in April 2012 during Annual Meeting of International Society of Cutaneous Surgeons of India, New Delhi. He has also authored three chapters in the text book. The book is considered to be a reference text book for both Dermatologists and Plastic surgeons. Text book is published by Jaypee.
